Bonsai Question...

I know from personal experience that when you breed something to a blood parrot you dont normaly get a parrot body.I have 3 parrot cross's that i have seen since birth and do not have parrot body but one that i gave away is short bodied but isnt all fat bodied like a parrot. And wouldnt you think if those bonsai Fh were half parrot they would turn fade to red or something not look just like a FH.In my opinion I dont think there bp FH cross.I think that haloman02 is right.I seen a texas that had a parrot shape body on here and no other evidence that it was half blood parrot and it was posted as BP texas but i bet it was just deformed.

My Golden Leopard Flowerhorn and KK Bloodparrot spawned a while back. Out of the spawn I was only able to save about fifteen fry. Out of those, six were short bodied and parrot shaped. Out of those three faded by half an inch long. The others I don't know because I didn't keep them long enough to find out. Out of the other nine non short bodied five of those faded by an inch long as well. Again, I don't know how any of them would have turned out when full grown because I don't have them any more but several were definitely parrot shaped. When you're dealing with inbreeding and deformities and hybridizing you'll have many different fry in a single batch.

I dont disagree with anyones thoughts or experiences.I am just saying my opinion is from my personal experience.I think killin and bonsai Fh come from a different method. But you might with the many posibilities with hybrids breed 2 FH together and get some killin some bonsai out of the same batch. As katt66 stated alot of his/her kkp Fh fry faded at 1/2inch and others by an inch.Thats a big faded ratio if the bonsai were parrot cross's wouldnt we see alot more faded ones pics. Also with killin there would be alot of faded ones.Who knows how many katt66 would of had fade if she would of grew them out.So still with all these factors I personaly still stick with my original thoughts. But I do think it is possible to get bonsai and killin FH out of parrot FH cross.I just dont think thats where moste come from.

But look at this fish It doesnt look like a bonsai synspilum or a parrot shaped synspilum. It looks to me a mix between the 2 but favors the parrot alot and im not saying its impossible.Im just saying i think they come from other means.I just dont think its as easy as breeding something to a parrot and you get a parrot shape and looks just like the dad.I think theres a secret in getting batchs of parrot shaped fish. That only resemble there mother in shape.
