Bored with FreshWater Fish, Ideas?

Whats the coolest most personality fish in your opinion? Just getting bored of the same ol same ol. Need some inspiration

1. Has to get along with Dats & Fire Eels
2. Should have some color, not another drab silver fish
3. Is NOT insanely expensive
4. A fish that you never get tired of watching, doesnt hide, doesnt act like a log, etc.
5. Can live a uncramped life in a 220 Gallon
6. Please include a pict of your recommendation if your posting.

An Oscar is nice. I would have suggested some African lake malawi cichlids, nice colors and personality, but they need special conditions, and also Im not sure how they would act around your other fish.

oscars do have alot of personality for a common fish. i like oddballs so i will say any of the large fresh water puffers would be nice but might not be nice to your fish. Or a florida gar would be my choice. Or if you want a mean fish i have a red tail payara that keeps me watching. And in a 220 you could get a few.

Puffers would be cool, but they would take plugs out of my other fish I think, Clowns are cool, but hard to find big one's alteast larger than 5"es. Got a 6-7"er
