13711171371118 this is Boris. He was a completely wild jackdaw whom we found in the middle of the road after a run in with a bird of prey. They are considered pests in the UK so our usual vets refused to treat him and only offered to put him to sleep. Eventually we found a vet that offered to help but upon seeing his x-rays it was discovered that he had permanent nerve damage to his wing and would never fly again. We offered to look after him while he healed and he decided that enjoyed being part of the family.
He had to have the wing amputated and now he lives with us permanently. He seems to love this arrangement and is a complete daddy's boy. He loves our dogs but is less fond of the cat lol. If the cat gets too close he will whistle for the dog for backup.

He also talks to different members of our family in different voices. While chatting with my youngest daughter he used a high pitched baby voice. He hasn't spoken English yet apart from one time when he heard my wife say "f*** off" and he decided to shout it the next morning as a wake up call!

I used to live in the UK, when I was about 10 my dad also found an injured jackdaw and we nursed it back to health.
They are very intelligent birds, Its a shame they are just considered a pest.

He is so adorable!

I recently got a Sun Conure. Only five months old now so I have puberty still to look forward to. At the moment dealing with his first molting.
