but, I don't get why someone would target this. is there a large number of people who race and attend? why not just bomb mall of America or something. there's thousands everyday there

....and somebody really knew what they were doing.A correspondent was saying that the bombs seem to have been set in some of most densely packed areas of the event for maximum effect.
 
minimum 4 devices spread over areas= not single person perp.
done by a cell group.

This is one of the premiere athletic events of the world.... Superbowl, World Series, the Indy 500, and believe it or not, The Boston Marathon....

Geez, already stopped watching news today. Just heard about this now. Shame...I bet this turns out to be local(Terrorist).
