I dont think so , do you ?

Lol !

lol no, If I were you I'd look into some of the larger synodontis catfish. They're not very messy and they are fun to watch. Not sure if a red devil will accept one though.

I have a RD, a male about 6 inches at the moment and he has recently started becoming extremely territorial and is constantly trying to convince our vieja synspilum to do the wild thing with him and whenever it snubs him he attacks the little clown loaches and our two 6 inch plecos. Also if they are in his log that he hides in he will nip them til they move but he never seems to attack to kill..
The 5 ft they are in used to be our african tank and when i changed it over to sa/ca i kept our synodontis notatus and him and the RD did NOT get along, although it was the RD that used to cop it 24/7 off the catfish:screwy:
I think with all but the most overly aggressive cichlids they mostly ignore the bottom dwellers in the tank, as they do all the cleaning..

So i am think on now getting another Polypterus Delhezi to go in with the RD' and maybe another Pleco but not a Common ( Which type would you recomend ? ) , then something else not sure .

What about an Eel , like a Fire Eel or will that just get bet up do you think ?

fire eels are too delacate in my opinion and their expensive, so you may just lose money
for plecos u could try some big bristlenose, as they are cheap, in my opion stick with the common plecs they get big and they are cheap unless ur willing to spend a little

Dont do fire eels and cichlids... that a setup for heartbreak... armored catfish like the irwini or raphael or something that can get nipped and still be fine...i have some freshwater flounders in with my cichlids... by the time the cichlid sees them moving it disappears and camos into the sand lmao... sweet fish...
