Bottom Drain to Sump, Bio Filter, etc plumbing - bad/inferior design?

Thanks! The pictures are on my original fill day 3 years ago. I modified the design to work with 1 inch pipe. I wion't build a tank without it in the future. I set up a drip system on it as well with the overflow located in the sump.. worked for my purposes as it kept my sump working as a refugium and I still had plenty of water flow without adding new pumps or changing anything out.

Rivermud, I see you made that tank with only plywood. I don't see any dimensional lumber support there. How big is that tank? If I was going to do the same, would you have any advice for me? Oak vs. Pine, etc? Screws and glue to use? I think that I would like to make a tank like that for my first project.

It is an all plywood build. I have a thread on it's build here, it was a test tank just to try new ideas and products. The tank never really tried much of anything new besides waterproofing and of course the idea for the out of tank overflow. The plywood i used was 3/4" A/C grade. I would use cabinet grade in the future for looks alone. The screws were pre drilled and spaced about 3 inches apart as you can see by the pictures. My tank is a 100 gallon which can be made from a single sheet of plywood (the exact reason I chose to build it that way). Hit me with a PM if you want more detailed info.
