bottom dwellers+sand=????

well i really dont care wat kind of sand, as long its safe for freshwater.
 
i use Carib Sea Super Naturals Tahitian moon sand. its its black, ph nutral, and looks great.
 
wats teh price range on that kind of sand???? im looking around 100 lbs for a 210.. or is it enough??
 
i paid 20 for 25 lbs
 
Black Beauty is another affordable sand used for sand-blasting and is sold at many supply/hardware outlets. It’s not really sand but powdered iron slag. It can be quite sharp so it’s not recommended for fish that sift a lot of sand such as Tanganyikan sandsifters. Furthermore, these very fine particles contain iron, which means they are not inert.
 
Plecos, cories, loaches, rays all do well on sand. I know with cories you should actually use sand rather than gravel so their barbels don't get damaged/worn down. I have playsand in all my tanks and love it. Just gotta rinse it real good before use. But its very economical at less than $5 for a 50 lb bag.
