Hey guys :)

Odoes arrived at my LFS, i'm picking them up in 3 hours (so excited :D).
There are three of them, and they will ultimately be commed with 3 Orinos.
Been told it's hit and miss, and I'm hoping it'll work (divider ready!).

I might get a wolf, eventually, if it ever becomes available in a near future, but in the mean time, I was wondering what to put as bottom dwellers.

Tank's a 180/220g (180g of water, but I never know if you guys use the base measurements or the actual water capacity), 6.5' long. It'll either be the temp home for the 6 aforementioned fishes, or the final home of 4-5 of them (might need to part with a cichla or three if it's final).

Would these work?
- 10-15 clown loaches
- 1 single ray
- a gazillion polypterus
- Any other ideas?

Bear in mind it is not to comm with the wolf, I doubt any of these would work safely :O
Any other ideas is welcome, except tigrinus, I'm not risking such an expensive fish that could potentially not work. :P

Large Loaches, Ray , and Lower jaw species of polys would definitely work.

Semi large catfish will work (vulture/ornate) without loaches.

Love Odoes and used to keep one. Saw a couple recently too but feel that they are a tad bit too fragile during juvenile stage - like ATFs.

Please do update your purchases here.

As for bottom dwellers, the safest choice would be of course the loaches. But the rest could work it the size difference are not too big.

Well, as an update, I can already show what I received earlier today, my LFS is such a tease. :P

They are adorably cute, one of them was swimming on its side, I was afraid he wouldn't make it, but that must have been a slight dizzy moment, cause he's swimming like a champ now. :)

More pictures when I get to get home before lights are off. ;)

Put higher air pump (if yours is adjustable) for the dizzy fellow. It well help it to recover faster.

Some fishes don't travel as easy as other. There are times where I have to hold the fish right at the air stone / outlet to help it recover.

Hope that helps. :)

I have two big circles of bubbles, he recovered within the half hour and they all three stick together. :D

They are smaller than the Festae in there I still haven't managed to get rid of, but he doesn't bother them, so that's all good. No fuss, no chasing, I'm pretty happy right now. :)

Pictures to follow, though, I should probably start a new thread, not sure. :o

Cichla, odeo, and red terror in a 180 sounds like a ticking time bomb, do you have emergency tanks ready in case things go south?
If it works out you will have a sweet display so I am pulling for you!

Oh, I'm aware.
The Festae is a long time rescue I can't get rid of.
The plan is 3 odoe, 3 orino, a billion loached in a 250. If things don't go as planned and I don't get the 250 in time, it'll trim down to 2 odoe, 2 orinos and half a billion loaches. :)

The cichla's completely dominate, for odd reasons, he acts like it's his first day in the tank... every day. He's due to be gone... last year, but he's too small for anyone to want him. I know when he has the right size (and therefore aggression) it'll be gone in minutes, but yeah, he's definitely not part of the picture. Worst case scenario, I'll take him to the LFS, I just hate doing that because the only trustworthy LFS near me is not close enough that I can just stroll by. :)

Love Orinos.

Used to have one. When colored up, their blue and green colors are better than Azuls.
