i think it depends on your aro. my silver and jardini aros are so aggresive that they will either eat or kill anything that moves in their tanks. tried all kinds of tankmates but didn't workout for me, hope you have better luck.
I would like to suggest small Datnoids.. they grow pretty slow so its good for the 75 gal. Or get some clown loaches like some of the other members mentioned.
