Im trying to decide on what bottom feeder will work for a 55 gallon. I'm going to have a jack dempsey a firemouth and maybe a pink convict(not sure yet) and 2 bala sharks. I need a bottom feeder to get up the extra food. I dont know wether to use a geophagus or cory cats, or something else I don't know about. Any suggestions or constructive criticisms is greatly appreciated.

Maybe a type of syno cat or something I've always wanted was a royal pleco or a watermelon pleco, I think they are the same I'm not sure.

Clown loaches or pictus catfish would work. The clowns will outgrow it eventually, but they grow really slow.

I have a syno eupterus and he really enjoys all the scraps he gets. He is also very mild mannered and hangs out vertically next to the intake to one of my penguins all day until its time to eat or night time. I always drop a massivore pellet or two in there for him at night-time since they are like any other catfish and like to come out in the dark.

i agree on synos, with eupterus being my favorites, along with the common upside-down cats if you want something smaller

I would get a hoplo cat or spotted rafeal, i wouldnt get a big cat as your tank is already overstocked

A raphael cat would work, they just aren't as active as the others mentioned.

:ROFL:python with long enough hose to reach water, pleco, sun or leopard cat
