I found someone who is selling a 180 gallon tank but tank has a crack through the bottom from moving and it was dropped on the corner and cracked through the bottom glass. Is there anyway to repair it so it can be strong and hold water as if it didnt have a crack?

Crack tanks makes me nervous but it's just I have not yet had any experience with crack tanks.

by putting the new sheet of glass over the crack piece could you do that? this tank is going for 80 dollars. If the work is not that bad I would consider it

No. You have to REPLACE it.

If your gettin the tank for a good price, and your set on buying it. If it's a rimless tank you could always buy another sheet of glass or w/e you need and seal it to the top of the tank like a box! Then just take the bottom out and scrap the silicone off the seems. This way you would get nice clean edges to work with. Also how big is this crack is it on a corner can you set up some sort of overflow with the tank in the corner, if your handy and don't mind the handy work you could always do something like that. Can you post pictures give us better view of the crack?

Also if it was dropped is there any scratches anywhere else it could of screwed the seals and silicone on other sides as well I would be sceptical about purchasing it in the end. Figured i'de throw some ideas out.
