jk, sorry for your loss. Im not sure how well an aro would do with a RTC as well.. just my 0.2 I know pepper would have my aro tore up from the floor up
Not big enough, a bare minimum for a fully grown RTC is a 12' x 4' x 3'. Please get the tank first before an RTC.
They can and will grow 1" per week if fed well and will easily outgrow a 6' tank.
you're all wasting your time. no one believes you when you tell them how fast an RTC grows.. and they just don't get how big they actually get.. and nothing you can say will change their mind. my ex KNEW how big they got and had some idea how fast they grew, and he STILL insisted on getting one.
here it is 6 or 7 years later and i still don't own an aquarium large enough to house an RTC properly or for more than a few months at best.

I'm reassessing my snakeheads... As they eat too much and like you all said I can't keep them with aros anyway I'm gonna upgrade soon ...so I won't worry about space now.
it's a problem i have no longer. she over-ate and vomited while i was gone grocery shopping and killed herself and my TSN a few years ago. But she was beautiful, i miss her, but i'll never own another RTC till i have a tank large enough to keep one for life. and by that i mean something similar to JohnPTC's tank. i won't even cramp an RTC into my 10' x 4' tank.
