bought one of those huge fish bowls from home goods

not sure on size but i want to say its about 5 gallons? i got some banana plants and i am going to drop anacharis in it. also, i will get a low powered filter.


trying to figure out what exactly i would like to do with it outside the standard betta and whiteclouds.


maybe a dwarf gourami but i would definitely need a heater.



does anyone know the size of those large decorative bowls?

it would be cool if i would load it up with plants and get a compact flourscent light and drop in some snails and a small newt maybe. its bigger then a basketball for size reference

I suppose, he would have to do it himself, because if he just buys one, it'd take up most of the bowl..

na it would be real easy. they make very small canister filters if not the sponge filter above user suggested. plus water changes and plants....this is basically a curved aquarium instead of a small goldfish bowl death trap.

Yes but most small filters are h.o.b. And that wouldn't work on a bowl. I'd say it's prob not 5g either. Guessing, totally guessing I'd say about 2-3g. Could def do something cool with it though
