They actually do make very small HOB filters for these bowls.

I have seen them at "The Pet Place" but I can't seem to find them online for some reason. I will keep looking

Lee's makes small UGF's for bowls.
 
drill the bottom and put in a center over flow for a sump:thumbsup:
 
i would make shrimp tank. they can get by without heat or filter just fine
 
what type of shrimp specifically. do you mean cherry or ghost? or what about those fan shrimps i forgot the name. they are the size of a small crawfish
 
Bamboo shrimp... They need at least 15-20 gallons, and a filter flow to sit in front of, this is because they use their "fans" to filter feed on particles in the water. They probably meant ghost shrimp btw
 
hmm ill keep looking around. no rush. ill get good lighting for the size and a bunch of plants. maybe just an aerator instead of a filter and make it a natural type tank. do 50% weekly water changes
