thanks Paraoh, I've been reading that they can be aggressive and eat small fish-but generally a less aggressive cichlid...I am aware they can grow to 2ft...but I want to see if anyone has any personal experiences with them.....
These fish are pretty easy to keep. They DO NOT like each other but will go well if they are the ONLY emperor cichlid in the tank. Once they reach 9" or so they grow pretty slowly compared to how fast they reach 9". I got mine at about 3-4" or so and they are all now 9-10" and have dramatically slowed down in growth rate. It will be a good fish to put in a tank to keep it in balance as those are what I move around to give my more agressive dominant fish in my other tanks a check to balance out the hierarchy.
