mine only get nippy if i miss gudge how much food i put in, if they arnt full at feeding times they get a bit funny, but they eat cichlid gold and prawns and im good with knowing how much to feed my tank now!

large growing native fish, they grow 2'+ long, need large aquariums, prefferabley with footprints of at least 8'x30", mine don't accept prepared foods, only things like worms etc, heavy filtration, native speices are dirty fish. good luck

thats not true at all? what about oscars, plecos, rtc, tsn, pbass, and all other large cichlids? they are crapping machines! you cant stereotype natives as being dirty fish, thats like a slap across the face to a native keeper!

and also, what size tank you have? bowfin get massive and arent usually good in home aquaria except for ponds or massive tanks.
