There is a resemblance between pbass and largemouth so i can see where that common name came from. Also, from what I've read, the pbass and the sunfish family, which includes largemouth bass, are thought to derive from the same "ancient saltwater perch".

Pike cichlids appear to be pretty aggressive to similarly shaped fish and often to others. Not too big a surprise here (for me) but I feel your pain, mate.
