Bowfin or Snakehead?

Just caught this in twin lakes Wisconsin right on the boarder of Illinois. Looks like a bowfin to me. The locals call it a dogfish and they don't eat them and they don't ever throw them back in the lake.

What do you guys think? 25" and 7 pounds

Thanks guys. The younger ones (smaller ones) had false eye spots on the tail area. Wish I got a picture of one.
