So I just checked on my large natives tank and noticed something dead on the bottom of the tank and quickly realized it was half of one of my eels! After a quick check I figured out who the eel munching culprit was.
It was my 15" bowfin, he's never been aggressive in the past and this is the first time he's killed anything besides shiners
Just an interesting story I figured I'd share
He bit the eel which was about 12 in long and as thick as a quarter clean in half
Luckily there are still 5 others hiding out throughout the tank
