I have a large koi pond in my back yard and I was wondering if I could put a small bow fin in. I have been looking for some new and unusual fish to keep in with them because i find all koi lacks variety. Anyway, if the bowfin is not a good idea, what might be? (besides sunny's)

It should be fine. although bow fin do get over 2 feet they might decide to eat the koi if they can.

that's what i'm worried about, i mean, that's why i was hoping that getting a small one would be good. Ifi did that my koi should out grow it, right? Either way, are there any others that would be good?

Eh, I think its a bad combo. Gentle giant and a terrorizing menace = trouble. If you dont care to much for the Koi, then I guess trying is the only way to find out.
Id rather just stick with Kois... maybe some nice butterfly kois or a diff color bottom with some black kois :)

try uhhh red tailed gouramis

I am assuming he says Kois cause he is not using a heater in his set up... I think RTGG's need warmish water right? Otherwise, that would be a interesting combo... if no heater, how about a sturgeon?
