i read that the norm captive size for a bowfin was 12-16" is this true? i understand they can reach over 3ft wild max

I would say that in captivity 12 to 16 inches is pretty average. They do however have it in them to reach the 30 inch mark for a big old female.
cool i might be getting a bowfin then. it would be in a 90 all by itself for now but i would upgrade later and if not i know someone who would take it. i talked to a guy that works for a fish hatchery and he said he would call me when he got one.
