Bowfishing a man’s sport or a Mean sport?

Yeah, it totally depends on what he would do with the seal. If he eats it fine. Seals are eaten by sharks and orcas all the time.

That was a joke shot, take a look at the "spear", it is just a stick. Young harbor seal often are left to bask while mom is hunting, they appear quite tame and will let people get very close. Sometimes people assume they are orphaned and that leads to problems.
Several years ago in Puget Sound a well meaning co-worker wanted to "rescue a poor orphaned seal" he found near point defiance. He actully got a hand on it. "Operation rescue" can too an abrupt end when momma seal tore a pretty good hole in his butt. When he could finally return to work we had gotten him a PETA membership. He did not seem to appreciate it for some reason.

Unless you are a true Eskimo, and seals are a mojor way of life, then noooo I don't think it is ok. Are you saying you kill seals??

Nope, I don't kill seals....in fact, I have been a vegitarian for 10 years and have only just started recently eating meat on rare occasions. And I am talking rare here...only a handful of times in that last 10 years. Though I am going to start includeing some meat into my diet for health reasons....I will still remain very picky on where it comes from. At any rate, I'm rambling so I'll get to the point. I am no more opposed to killing seals than any other animal, be it chicken, cow, trout, deer, rabbit, lobster, dog or whatever, I don't hold one's life in higher regard over the other. If the seal in question is not an endangered species and is killed humainly for food than I don't see a problem.

i thrill hunt carp, they are so thick here you would not believe it, i know spots where you can throw a daredevil out and snag a carp almost every cast, hell yea i thrill kill them, throw them up on the land and walk away. everyone who lives here hates carp for one reason or another.

shoot them with a pistol, snag them with a strong fish line, spear them, bow and arrow, throw rocks off a bridge on them, cherry bombs, dip net, theres even electric "fish"barriers here set up by dnr, they keep the carp out of lakes, the dnr then net the carp with large nets and destroy them.

one time me and some bros filletted and grilled a carp, worse damb thing i ever tasted, was like eating greasy mud, sorry im off on a carp tangent, but that is the only fish i would spear, mame, kill for no reason

you have the logic comprehension and brain size of a walnut.

Come on now, SHARKS have brains the size of walnut! Im not near that smart!!

Proof that your not very smart....a sharks brain is NOT the size of a walnut. The brain of a white shark is actually two feet long.

Killer carp, and of course the mongrel Koi, the most dangerous of all goldfish.

saw an orca throw a seal like 50 ft in the air on a programme called deep blue, was amazing the power it had. then again it seemed pointless.

also, foxes kill stuff for pleasure. then again they're kinda viewed as pests here hence fox hunting.

i realise these points are pointless, but yea watch deep blue its great. :grinyes:
