Well I'd look for Terrapene ornata (Ornate Box Turtle) because they are native in your state and would be able to over winter there. The next species to look at would be Terrapene carolina carolina (Eastern Box Turtle). With a proper depth of mulch they should be able to overwinter there too. Captive bred baby box turtles aren't cheap and paying $100 bucks for one isn't uncommon.

The reason for that is because they're out of season. The babies usually hatch in the late summer/early fall. If you wait a few months you will see people selling them. Here's a link to a cheap Easter Box Turtle juvi that looks to be a female.

We here are no longer able to get recently wild cauths only long term adults and captive bred juvis and boy they sell big:eek:
