alright I PMd VF on this but you cant do pics so hey, this is not her pic but from me looking on the net this is closest if not dead on what she found at the park here in Bakersfield CA.By the river-lake park over here,it fallowed them around until they figured its gotta be someones and not wild.So what is it and could it live in that area wild or should she try to keep it.Its like 10 inches long or so.Very non afraid of ppl.boxa.jpg

Yeah that sure is a Box Turtle. Looks like a female Terrapene carolina triunguis (Three-Toed Box Turtle). Native to the South Central US.

so what type of set up am I looking at or should I just google it for the species you said?

yeah,it would be easy if she had a yard but just a patio and wanted to keep it indoors,Im trying to shake her from the idea but then again its such a nice little guy.Dont the temps here get to hot for these guys outside?Anyways, once bigger like this one dosnt it suck to do them indoors?

N.A. Box Turtles do best outdoors. You could probably keep it where you live as long as you have shade for it to escape from the sun and a nice shallow pool to soak in. It will most likey hibernate in the winter where you live.

thanks guys for the info,I looked up their care and I just think they should try something else cost wise but she hasnt called me back so who knows.I just dont want it to end up in a little tank the rest of its life but now to find a home for it sucks too.I hate this crap, lol.I got another friend tryin to pawn off a leo her son wont take care off too.Geez.
