I always find it entertaining how its usually kids and first timers that always seem to get really lucky and catch the largest fish or shoot the trophy buck, and then sometimes lose interest bc the sport is "too easy", hopefully that doesnt become the case. Personally I would debate releasing it if possible and getting a replica made, because most likely it has good genes, and it would give others a motivation to fish, knowing the current state record is still in the Atlantic somewhere.

A kid for conneticut catches the flordia record. I feel that the crew should get some credit for the catch. I bet it was caught on a charter. No way the kid didn't have some help, he was a first timer and had i bet had little idea what he was doing. I used to hate when kids caught monster fish when I was a first mate. They go out next time and expect to catch a similar fish and get mad when they don't.

your right a lot of kids these days have no idea what fishing is about they all just want to catch big when i was a kid i just want to catch any thing didn't matter about the size just wanted the buz of the fish on the end of the rod.......

I remember watching a television program about shark attacks and they filmed a bull shark in shallow water biting a chunk off of one of the guys calves. He lost most of the muscle of his calf.

thats not what it says if you watched the video on the link. he has been fishing there since he was 5, and last year he caught a 460lb shark.
