They are fake plants. Tried real ones when I had African cichlids and they destroyed them. Ever since went with artificial

First batch I didn't have enough survive to make it worth tying up a tank. This time I took the male out early and female is doing well with wriggles.

Hopefully third time a charm. Eggs again today. Going to remove both parents early this time. Keep eating wrigglers.

Most fry will get the parrot shaped but you can get some nice kamfas too. Keep us updated on their growth

Have about 30 fry left from batch. Hopefully going to try growing out as my bonsai took ill and it seems no matter what I try this time it is not working. Really liked this guy but don't think he is pulling through.

None of the fry will have the parrot shape and about 25% will be shortbody. With only 30 fry left it's likely all the shortbodies got picked off already though. Your best fish from this pair will have classic kamfa comformation and the rest will be a mix of up - line parrot traits washing out most of the fh blood.
