Brachyplatystoma rousseauxii aka dorado catfish, 4"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Might seem crazy but any reason yours can't go in the koi pond?
The mahseers check everyone's "ballsyness" who enters the pond and are generally possibly nippy / bity. Not to mention the wels is now there too.

(Currently the bump on the nose is 5x bigger from rubbing and bumping :( )

As forewarned :( (but still feeds exceedingly well). The yellow bullhead tank mate bit its tail a bit and was swiftly removed.

The dourada healed from that bad blister that had been shown above and has been well since last summer of 2021. I estimate its length now at around 20"-22". Some typical feeding - it feeds well to a nice round tummy on fortified herring. On alternate days I give giant NLS pellets, which it also takes but in moderation, just a few maybe.

Biting the bullet - Dora the 2ft 4yo dorado catfish goes from 240 to 1800 gal - risky forced gamble. (I think I recalled incorrectly in prior post that it was 6yo, I am sure we got it somewhere in 2018.)

That guy is exquisite. I hope he does well in his new home and can't wait to see more updates. I wish I had the room to house such a fish as he is both a beauty and a beast. Nice work raising him up Viktor.

Dorado's 1st day in 1800 gal: minor bites & stress from the tank mates, as a result silver dollars, Asian USD cat, and black shark go out, the trio of soldier cats is in.
