I have a freshwater tank at home but now that im in college and have a new tank to stock I decided I would give brackish a try (after I got some "FW" gsp puffers that turned out to be some of the coolest fish ive ever had). I currently have in the tank 3 GSPs about 3", 2 stone fish at about 5"+ and 2 (make that one thanks to one of my stonefish) columbian sharks about 3".

Im now looking for more cool brackish fish but im not really familiar with what is avaliable. Any Ideas that would be cool agressive and compatible with the stones?

I need a cleaner too. Would any species of crab work? of would the stones and puffers tear it up?

Wow, how big of a tank do they allow in your dorm?

Depends on what size tank you have now.

The cat will get big and the gsps can sometimes get aggressive and territorial.

Depending on the size of your tank, that would decide the other fish you could get in there.

You could get redclaw crabs, they are really great and add movement and personality to your tank.

You could easily add a dragon goby to that mix, but I think thats about it, maybe a scat.

But at 30, thats about the max I would safely consider putting in a tank until you get a bigger tank, then go crazy ;)

as far as inverts anybody know of one that wouldnt get:

a, eaten by stonefish?

b, get its eyes plucked out by the puffers?

Inverts are what puffers eat. Way too many fish in that tank. You already have enough bioload for a 150g tank. No more tank mates. I'd start finding homes for most of those fish. A GSP >3" needs a 30g alone.

I don't think its overstocked for a 150, definately at the load for a 30.

The stonefish don't put out a lot of waste, since they don't move that much, and eat seldom. The catfish is definately a messy eatter :)

As for inverts, there really isn't much that wouldn't either get picked off by the Gsps or stonefish. As you think about it, either they would have to hide in caves (stonefish) or be free swimming (gsps).

You really thinkg 3x3" GSPs, 2x5" stonefish & a 3" Columbian shark is stocked OK?

I'd be curious what the nitrates are. That's a diseased tank just waiting to happen. Very stressful.
