Brackish people how do you do your water changes?

 • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
always pre-mix your salt before putting it into the tank, the fish can adjust to changes in salinity(although major changes are stressful) the biggest risk is killing your bio-filter or having a big shift in PH. i mix my salt in a 5g bucket with a powerhead, i just fill up the bucket, treat with some prime, add in the salt(currently i'm at a SG of 1.004, or approx. two tablespoons of IO per gallon) and go to sleep, when i wake up the next day and feel like it i just do the water change, try adding the salt with some sort of measuring instrument so you know approx how much your adding each time, you don't need to be exact but you don't want to really stress out the fish.

Use 1/4 cup of marine salt per five gallons, then pump it into the tank using a modified powerhead. Keeps my sg so far at 1.006. Been workin on keeping stable sg for 2 months now. finally feel good about it enough to add some puffers.

I do my water changes every 2 weeks. I change about 25 % of the water and I premix my water in a bucket and put in some Prime and then I put in the Sea Salt and adjust it to the SG level I want it to be and then after the salt has dissolved I pour in the bucket. Refill the bucket and do the same thing again and again until I replenish the water level.

You think you have problems? Try living in chilly Britain, mate... We need to add a kettleful of boiling water to each 2 gallon bucket of tap water just to bring the temperature up to about 70 F [and that is in 'our' 'summertime...]
And I live in South-East England, where we at least have a summer of sorts!
Do not try talking to a Scottish person about this – they severely lack any sense of humor at all, along with anything remotely resembling any sort of summer, except as a polar bear knows it..!

I mix my salt in a 30g rubbermaid trash can. First add water and prime, next add measured amount of sea salt. Let it mix for the day with large powehead. I also have a heater in the can so the water is at the right temp. Once a week 25g water change in my 135g.
