Hi this my first post so I'd like to say hello to all .

I recently upgraded my used 100 gallon i bought off craigslist to a brand new 125 gallon aqueon tank. beautiful tank i love it the problem is when i filled it up it seems to have developed a couple bubbles or tears in the seal Is this cause for alarm or is this quite normal for tanks this size ? heres a pic. please let me know what you think. im pretty noob as far as time in the hobby but ive been learning at a very fast rate. seal.jpg heres a pic of the tank seal 4.jpg.

Heres 2 pics of my EBJD and my armatus kickin it.

Could you post some close up pictures of the stand? The stand could be stressing your tank seams.

BTW - bubbles in the silicon is not that unusual if they occurred during the construction. If they formed after you filled the tank, you have a serious problem and a potential for a catastrophic tank failure.

ya my 125g has the same thing i dint worry about it cause the tank isnt leaking or nothing, should i be worried..?
thet were there when i bought the tank used and accualy has algeea growing in the void.

If algae is growing it, then the water is in it... sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. How far into the seam is it?

are you absolutely sure that those bubbles were not there before you filled it? it can be difficult to see them unfilled because there is no light on it.

bubbles in that location are usually formed when the tank was initially sealed, and are of no concern because the seal at the edges is solid and the bubbles are there forever.

the seal you took a pic of looks pretty even and good.

I would not be worried unless the bubble move/change when you press on the glass.

if they do - trouble

if not- they were there from the beginning and you have no cause for concern. most tanks have the odd air bubble in between the glass panels if you look close.

I agree with 12 Volt Man

i dont see an armatus. in the picture u stated about it i see ebjd and peacock eel.
and 12 volt is right!

every glass tank i have ever owned has had some bubbles in the silicone...
dont worry about it unless they grow..
use a marker to mark them and check it for a few months.. if nothing is changing then dont worry about it and clean the marker off the tank..

if they grow its a sign that the tank is seperating/failing
