Brand new ac 110 clicking LOUDLY!?!

Taking it back presents a problem. I took the printout from doc fosters and smith for 33.99 to the farthest petsmart from my home. (had to call every single one of them in my area before one would commit to price match) so its either take it back 45 mins away or argue with some one at a closer store. I guess I was just hoping someone had an easy fix.

I bought 4 with this deal. All were good except one had an air leak in the intake tube, I had the same problem. Repleced the intake tube with one from an AC70, no problems since. Fosters will fix it for you if that doesn't work, email them.

Okay hopefully this will help someone in the future. I thought about it for a while and all I had to do was turn the motor about a 16th of a turn away from the filter body and it hasn't clicked since. I will be keeping an eye on it for a few days to make sure there are no signs of it leaking but other than that all seems well...

If you remove the small intake tube and look down you will see a black plastic plate. push that down and make sure its sets securely

I think I got it worked out, are you talking about the plate that is actually connected to the intake tube where it meets the impeller or the plate thats attached to the filter body?

^ Yes thats the plate. Without that the impeller will have little to no support. You can remove the filter and cartridge to get an easier look but it sounds as though the impeller is out out of tilt and hitting the filter housing with the blades..
