How many gallons is the tank and actually where is it located (is it cold where you are at). If so based on volume of water it maybe pushed to its limit.

It's a 125g. House stays around 70 degrees. Tank is by our back door downstairs but it's insulated well. Have a 200w heater and now this 300
If the house is 70 and you are trying to raise the temp to 85 you could very well be at the capable limit of the 2 heaters. Turn the 300w up some more if possible. But I remember using my thermal gun on a heater and even though it was on it was not putting out the proper amount of heat.
The room we have them in is kinda weird. It's basically our laundry room, but we just got it refinished and it's the room most people come in to our house through. We wanted it to look awesome and the tank really sets it off against the wall.

Get a heater controller and aside from heaters underperforming you shouldn't have to worry much. You will see more use out of your heater because it can be set to a higher setting and more accurately controlled. I picked up a ranco on Amazon and had a buddy wire it for me, now my heaters are both capped at 87 but they only flick on when water falls below 76 degrees. You can get cheaper ones that you don't have to wire or buy the ranco prewired from jehmco or etcsupply for a bit of a mark up. I know it helps me sleep at night having these fail safes.
My single 300 watt heater could keep my 300 gallon tank at a crisp 78, two 300 watts easily reached 82. My tank is in a basement and the sump is on the unfinished basement floor, so I get to deal with ground temps sapping at my precious heat. I can't imagine the heaters being incapable of reaching 85, but they might run a lot and you might want to look into air pumps or heavy surface agitation to combat a low o2 scenario.

I really hate to burst the Eheim bubble but I have had just as many Jåger heaters fail as any "cheap" heaters have....the most recent a brand new 300w out of the box. I have used these heaters for many years and they are definitely good heaters but recently they have begun to suck and not last or be junk right out of the box.

This year has been, for some reason, the year all my heaters decided to break...I am replacing with titanium heaters with separate thermostats and heater controls....just better amd worth the extra $.
