got home with this new tank 72x36x25 only to find it cracked during the move. one crack is on the front viewing glass, lower right corner. the crack has run to the end so it shouldnt run any further and its flared outward towards the inside so it shouldnt push out. im going to seal it with silicone so it doesnt leak. the second crack is on the top support brace in the center towards the back. i just spent my all my money on this so there is no replacing it. maybe a cheap repair of possible. the company i got it from says from the photos i sent (below), these shouldnt effect the integrity of the tank. what does the community think?

i can't see the photos

now i can. guess i posted too early. did the company you bought it from make it for you? if so, it should be PERFECT and they should replace it.

If you are worried you can always brace the inside with a small plate of glass, say 2x2". Attach it to the bottom so it sticks to the bottom, the side panel and the front. Your substrate will hide this.
Also if you want to further strengthen that corner you can run a 2nd small slither of glass, 1x3", so the edge of the glass is facing the viewing panen and silicone it in very neatly, again your substrate should cover it all or most of it up and it will not be too visible.
In total you will see a small backwards "L" in the bottom right of your tank.
I saw a tank a while ago that had some bracing like this as it had similar cracks like yours and the small pieces of glass were not very visible.

However, as this is a new tank I would force them to replace it. You paid good money for a supposedly new and unblemished product, you did not receive this. That or ask for a substantial amount off if you are ok with this.

Been as you did it yourself I would go back to the tank builder fess up to whats happened and ask their opinion? Surley at the very least they would sort it out for you at cost price.

You dont want that crack going south whilst it's full :grinno:

Worst case: You can strip the tank and replace the panel. I know, sucks because it's a new tank!!! I'm sure whoever did that quality work will help you out in this situation. Sorry for the loss bro.

i called them, they are 400 miles away so its hard for me to drive back out there. they said the tank should be fne as it but i hate to fill it and it go. what sould i use to attach the smaller pieces of glass with. also wanted to add something to the back brace to supoport it too
heres exactly where the crack is on the brace. fish girl had to go itDSCN0758.JPG

That tank looks amazing similar to a 240 I have sitting on my back porch with a mysteriously shattered bottom. I will never buy another tank constructed like that. Who is the manufaturer? That glass looks way to thin for a tank that size. I hope it works out for you.
