Onion, just move him into a bigger tank ASAP as long as he cannot be eaten. He can find the food in the 75G very easy. Then once in the 75G and roughly big enough to not be eaten the 300G (assuming he's over 6") just throw him in! Simple.

The bigger tank you put him in the faster he will grow to a point then he will slow down.around the 20- 24" mark.
