I recently noticed my brandti wasnt eating and hasnt been as active as usual. When i looked closely i noticed his bottom teeth showing. It looks like they sliced right through his lower lip. If this is the case is there anything i can do to help him out without risk of losing my finger? Hes about 6 inches.

My Brandti isnt real active until night time. Then he is non stop,My fish tends to get bored with his food, for awhile i will feed him shrimp, then he will stop eating that so i give him Smelt, when he gets bored i will throw in some live feeders.Try starving him for awhile,he should heal up by hisself i wouldnt try touching his mouth. :WHOA:

Thanks. I'll try some new foods. hopefully it'll work. Im new to owning brandtis. is it normal for their teeth to go through their lip?

well said... its sounds bad but starving is the best way.. fish can go a long time with out food.. so don't worry.. as for the teath... don't even worry about that at all.. piranha have an amazing regeneration rate.. trust me worse stuff happens in the wild.. just give him time he will be fine
