Brasi update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
All the dorados I kept before were surely no pushovers. The best tank mates are those 20-30 percent larger than them.

Lovely Brasi. The gold tones are there on the belly already, remarkable for a 12 incher.

Perhaps Brasi are indeed the "true golden" dorado that will get stronger coloration.

Would love to see this piece updates from time to time.

It helps that the tank is in sits under direct sun light from outside. I believe the UV intensifies the doradoes for almost certainty.

How do we ensure they are exposed to UV? Saltwater "actinic" lights? Halides?

I think that hypothesis could be tested by using it over the course of a few months to see if there's any notable difference from regular. The ones I've seen that are truly golden has direct sunlight beaming off the glass for me from outside. (Limited sunlight due to smog though) I really think mature golden brasis are one of the nicest looking fish in my opinion.

I hope this theory works as my tank is exposed to direct sunlight a couple of hours daily. The aros kept in that tank have the tendency to go "cross belly" and the small 6 incher dorado are showing some gold crackling on its cheek after two weeks in the tank.
