I'd stay away from the blackworms, but that's just me. Guppies should work best...remember, even though Cichla are large fish in general (even when young) they usually prefer small food items. So, what I am saying is that if you know your Cichla can eat guppies like tic-tacs then continue to feed them to it/them....smaller food items fed more frequently are better for your fish than large food items fed more sporadically.
