Brazilian pennywort leaf issues

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks!
I'll check the parameters before I do anything. Does ph and alkalinity make a difference too?
Also lighting?
Ph, not really. Alkalinity and lighting can. If you have extremely soft or extremely hard water it can affect the plants. Lighting could possibly be exacerbating the issue. It's hard to say though.

Last water change on Wednesday I wrote down 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and 10 nitrate. I didn't check ph or alkalinity. I have to get a new kit. Lighting is a fluorescent that came with the tank (bought everything new together).

I wouldn't sweat it. H. Leucocephala is a tough plant. With some species, old leaves are shed when they are put into different water conditions. That might just be the case here. Or if they were grown NOT submerged, and now they're under water. Pennywort is a marsh plant after all. New leaves will be fine. Just add some liquid iron, it'll be a treat for them.

Thanks for the info. I read it is a tough plant and it does well in different conditions.
I am wondering if it's because different conditions. When I bought it, it was fully submerged. Now it's floating on the surface.
I have liquid iron. How much and how often do you recommend in a 36g bowfront?
I noticed the roots are growing fast like new leaves. It seems to grow pretty fast so that has to be a good thing.
