Interesting you or other family mebers havent done something about them even though there has been no problems.Around here people panic over an active hive that could be fifty feet above the ground.

well, wasps are harmless, but yellow jackets would be a top priority to get rid of them

I know they can be nasty but I always thought they only attacked out of defense of their hive?

They could be bee's, but we're almost 100% sure they are wasps. It would be a pain to get them, since it would require going onto the roof and finding the hole, or tearing apart the wall to find the nest. Hopefully they die out over winter.

Besides, like I said earlier, they haven't done anything negative and help keep bug populations low.

yea, it's just that by walking by they may think you're attacking them, lol
Good point and you have younglings who's safety always has to be taken into account....One summer a group of some type of burrowing wasps decided to take residence right beside our pool and I got stung a few times just walking past their hole

I put up my fence in the back for that reason. but the yellow jackets were gone by then anyways. either way I don't let my kids go down there since it's all dirt
