breaking Red Tail Barracudas off live. How long?!?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well that was terrifying. I was positive they were going to die. I even bought feeders, not that it did any good.

I broke and threw in 7 rosies last week: the larger cuda got 1, and my ATF and Scomb grabbed the rest faster than I thought possible. The end result was the smaller cuda still had not eaten anything, and my ATF refused tilapia for the next 2 days :irked:

But two days ago, FINALLY, the small one broke!!!!!!!!! I dropped in the end of a shrimp tail (just meat) and I don't know why, but he hit it. They next day, he was at the surface, and trying to take food from the ATF (which is a new thing for me to worry about). He hits hard and fast, and hopefully his behavior will rub off on the larger cuda so I can finally relax completely.

Anyways, just wanted to update with some good news. Happy holidays everyone!

Good stuff!

And FINALLY! Two days ago, like it was an early b-day present to me or something, the second LARGER cuda broke! I had finished feeding all my tanks, and I had a rather large chunk of tilapia left over, so I though "what the hell, the Dat will probably get it." Much to my surprise though, the larger cuda saw it hit the water, waited a second, then SLAMMED it!!!! I thought it may have been a fluke occurrence, but he ate again last night. Looks like I'm finally in the clear. Just in time to piss everyone in this tank off when I move them into the 180....

Here's a short-ish clip of me feeding the ATF and the Cudas. I got my wife the new iPhone for Christmas, and she was in a good mood so she agreed to try out the slo-motion feature of her camera for a feeding vid. :)

Sorry for the average quality, we were just playing around with the features, but at least this is proof they can be broken!

Thanks! But this video looked much better on my iphone screen. I'll probably try this again, but at a higher quality... I wonder if her phone can do that?
