Any chance the tanks not properly cycled yet? You mentioned an amonia spike. Also, With airiation you can help to lower amonia slightly. Amonia goes into a gass. Besides, bubbles look cool. I do know that excess amoina can make a fish breath fast and hard.

Ya Tony60, That's why I did a water change, Ammo was 0.25. I have since lowered the temp to 78 and turned up the airation on my power head. They seem to be doing just fine now. That did the trick. I thank you all for your sound advise as do the Tinfoil Barbs.
