With all the incredible species of marine fish available, why would you want to keep a Blood Parrot in salt water?

Well Im not surprised if BP and FH do fine in marine for short term but not forever.

Good point. I'm surprised with all the more attractive FW alternatives that people even keep these guys. In SW, they have even more competition.

I'd be willing to believe he converted them to salt, but it can't be good for them. They wont last but a fraction of their normal lifespan. And he wants nearly $9K for them? I don't care how superstitious you are about a fish bringing good luck-why pay 1000X what the fish is normally worth cause some idiot figured out how to make it die slower in salt water?

Still I do lik BP's I think they are very nice fish but since they shouldn't exist and they're growing habits differ alot i'm gonneh leave them alone

That is going to be shocking if he actually gets people to pay that much for one. As others have said, I doubt they would live very long. There are plenty of interesting saltwater fish already, anyway. Personally, I don't even want a freshwater blood parrot. I would only take one as an adoption.

I agree 10000000% that BP's do not belong in SW. Looking back at the thread, it may look as if I was advocating it.

Wow, the fish isnt going to live long, or by marine be means a salt level of 1.010 or simply hes lieing. And charging nearly 9k for a bp thats only been in there for 4 monthes is outrageous. I think this whole thing is dumb.

I call :bs:
