Breeding barbatus cory cats

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Interesting. My friend that is breeding several corys says that his sterbai are a seasonal breeder around this time of year, and they go at it all day long for a couple of months.

Sorry, should have been more specific, the sterbais ARE more active this time of the year, but they also get fired up during storms.

Interesting, around here they don't do much during storms, and Lewiston/clarkston has some AMAZING storms. I've never seen lightning anywhere like I have there.

It, of course, is possible to spawn corydoras outside of meteorological means, but large pressure drops, as seen during large storms, not to mention the decrease in temperature are well documented triggers for spawning (in fact, my adolfois only began spawning regularly after I left the window open during a rather intense--as intense as it gets in SoCal--rainstorm).

I decided to ressurect this OLD thread just to give an update.
My co-worker has ten babies from his first successful hatch that are about 1.5" and are approx. 4 months old. His second batch just hatched two nights ago and there are atleast 150 little guys cruising around.:headbang2
