Hey guys, new to the forum :)
Just wanted some advice/tips on how to raise Brine Shrimp.
I ordered the eggs from Ebay just a few days ago, along with an air pump, air stones, air line.
I already have a cheap tank/lamp at home/Sea Salt/Bicarbonate of soda.
I was just wondering what the best way to raise them was and what I should feed them.
Any help would be appreciated :)

you basically what to culture plankton to feed them to adult hood, not very easy if you ask me. Id create an floating algae bloom in the tank for starters..

lol. what are you trying to do exactly? Hatch brine shrimp and raise them to adulthood?

Hi,
I have some similr questions.
Have you ever seen Don Conkel's system of breeding brine shrimp?
I want something the same but have 0 knowledge of that. It is something that is hung from the ceeling and breed's them until adulthood to feed the fish. What system do you think I should use and how can I work it?

Thanks in advance

Hi.... wow I havent been here in a long time. Here is a link to a thread I wrote about my tiger barb breeding. There is some discussion about my success and improvement in rearing brine shrimp for food. I got excellent hatch rates but it won't help so much with raising them for an extended period of time since that was not my purpose. Hope this helps. Don't bother with anything sold in stores. Home made is easy and works better.

hello , i used to hatch bs in old large glass jars , it is so simple theres no need to over complicate it - what i did was take some water out of my reef tank and fill the jar about 2/3 full , i then put a air line down to the bottom of the jar and turned it on but restricted the bubbles down to about 1 per second ( no air stone ) . then i put in a few drops of de-shelled bs eggs in the jar ( the eggs where bought from my lfs for about £12 and they are in liquid suspension ) and that is it i did not heat the jar but i left it where it could get good light from my tank and in no time at all you have baby bs

oh yer i forgot you may want to chock one end of the jar up so when the eggs fall to the floor they gently roll back to the air line and are then blown back in to the water column , also if you are wanting to glow them on i would just buy some ready grown phytoplankton from a shop .... DT's is good strong stuff
