I do not blanch or cook anything I add.
You will read that blanching is some cases helps digestion.
It is my opinion that it’s not necessary, and I have not seen any real scientific proof that this is the case.
I tend to look at things from the fishes point of view. That is to say if the animal were to find something to feed on in the wild it’s not going to be blanched or cooked for them.
I know people will say yes but they are naturally not feeding on sweet potatoes and zucchini.
To that I say if blanching your veggies gives you a warm feeling inside then do it.
I just don’t think it’s necessary.
I’ve raised hundreds of plecos and have never blanched anything.
