I want to start breeding some cichlids .........Other then convicts what CA/SA cichlids breed quickly?.........Feedback would be appreciated...........

I would check out cichlid-forum.com for a wealth of information on everything cichlid. Pretty much all cichlids are prolific breeders but if you want specifics on who breeds most check out that site.

I don't know of any other cichlids that reach maturity and can breed as young as convicts, so with most other cichlids you'll need to be a little more paitient. there are many that can be spawned fairly easily though. firemouths, jack dempseys, texas, carpintis, salvini, oscars should all be fairly easy to breed. the key will be to buy about 6 juveniles and let them grow up together in an appropriately sized tank. as they grow they will naturally pair off and once this happens you'll want to remove the extras unless the tank is large enough to support 2 pairs. of the cichlids I mentioned above the firemouths would be easiest to keep more than one pair together. if any of those sound like something you might be interested in or if there's another species you'd like to breed that I didn't mention, just let us know and we can provide more specific information for you.

Firemouths are pretty easy, i bought a 4 a year ago, and before i knew it two of them were breeding it up in the tank.

yes the convicts breed very easily if you have enough of then to couple out

try jack dempsey or texas cichlids
