Apart from jack dempsey's and lombardi's, I've had a lot of success with Braziliensis and red forest jewels....really just need quality water and food, lots of space and breeding seems inevitable
Apisto's or Apistogramma'a cockato or agiss red tails breed fairly fast and easy to breed. Mine bred every 11 days anles they have a fry free swimming. They take great care of there young.
I want to start breeding some cichlids .........Other then convicts what CA/SA cichlids breed quickly?.........Feedback would be appreciated...........
Hi there. Do you have anything specific in mind? Do you want general African cichlids or more specifically those from either Lakes Tanganyika or Malawi?
Water conditions are quite different for the rest against the two lakes. Malawi's make a good show and so do the Tanganyikans.
These require you to either look at overstocking or choosing out one or two species comprising a male and 4-6 females. Why so is these fish can become quite aggressive towards each other which can lead to the death of some fish. When adding in new fish to an establsihed tank you should look at no less than 3-4 fish otherwise they will be picked on by those already established.
