I have a breeding pair in a regular 20 and have had no issues.

a 20 long.

one question. why don't you use platies or mollies? they need less room, and produce offspring twice as large as convict fry. also, in a 20 gallon tank, you could have quite the breeding colony.

my problems with feeding cons are that some may survive and go on to conquer your tank, and fish may choke because when the cons are swallowed, they stick up the spines on their back and get caught in the diner's throat (ouch)

just my 2 cents:)

Ahhh-

Not a bad point, but I want to enjoy the fish as much as provide safe feeders for my monsters. Platys and Mollys bore me, But you did say something that caught my attention.....

"produce offspring twice as large as convict fry."

Really? Not being a dik, just wow, that shocks me! Cool, might be something to think about!

Also I would have to agree with ammerman19 - It would have to be the Hulk Freaking Hogan of Cons to conquer my monsters!

LOL!
