Interesting. That's very relaxed and laid back compared to the behaviour from the dels. I had always heard that the courtship of ornates was very energetic, to the point of them leaving the water.

The behaviour had died off for most of the past week. I was getting a bit worried about my male. He didn't come out to eat the other night which is the first time that had ever happened.
Today I did my weekly 50% water change, and they decided to ramp it up a bit. The female is now just as active at the one end of the tank as the male, and they are spending a lot of time side by side, following each other, and twisting around each other. Still no sign of egg laying though.
