OK.. I am one of the luckiest people, I bought a Pair of Electric Blue Rams from a local breeder and I was sure to get a male and female. I brought them home on Thursday. I already have eggs. This is my first time breeding rams. Should i take the eggs out and put in another 10gallon tank or do you think the parents will do the trick? I'm looking for the best survival rate because i going to be selling them 15 bucks a pop. I'm so happy.

thank you, i took the eggs out today after i seen the female picking off some eggs. this is my first time artificially hatching fry. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

I would think its the same as breeding ebjd`s, and to get the best fry`s you need 2 "normal" GBR`s (ideally not releated to each other) and 2 Electric GBR`s (again, ideally not related to each other).

Breed 1 blue to 1 normal, and again the second blue to the second "normal" one, then you pair up 2 fish from the spawns ( one from each spawn).
The fry from the above pair should net you 25-33% Eletric GBR`s fry of good quality.

If you just pair up 2 Eletric GBR`s, from the same spawn you`ll be inbreeding and some of the fry will be deformed. This is what happend with the EBJD at one point in time.

that is not true about the EB rams they are fine to spawn with each other. its just i hear the are bad parents. I know this first hand from who i got my rams from. i seen his pair and all the fry he had in another tank. and i have seen youtube videos of pairs laying eggs and taking care of young. but it is sad to say when i woke up this morning and the majority of the eggs are white now. I'm going to leave them alone for another day to see if any hatch but i think i was a complete loss. hopefully by their next batch i can remove them as soon as i see them. i just need to learn more on artificially hatching them. and tips on that and a setup guild would be awesome. maybe it was my fault that the turned white since it was my first time trying to artificially hatch. my set up to hatch is i have 3 airstones one next to the eggs and the other 2 up at the top. and i put aquari-sol in the water instead of methylene blue because that is what the guy at my lfs recommended.

local fish store

Lol.

Congrats! I'm not sure you will be able to get $15 a piece for them. They also don't sell very well until they're adults.
